Acquiring competency in Public Health and Health Care Systems is also key to understanding the structure and function of health care and public health systems across different settings. planning and Management skills will enable residents to assessing population health needs, design policies and interventions, and manage resources efficiently. It is also crucial to acquire competencies in Policy and Advocacy for engaging various stakeholders in the policy-making processes, building coalitions, and advocating for health equity which is an assurance function of Public Health. Leadership and Communication skills is needed. Residents upon completion would be poised to apply leadership principles, using negotiation skills, and effectively communicating public health content.
