Biography
Dr Kwabena Frimpong is Associate Professor of Marketing and International Business at KFUPM Business School, which he joined in August 2014. He holds a PhD in Services Marketing and an MSc in International Marketing from Strathclyde Business School, Glasgow, and obtained a First Class BSc in Administration from the University of Ghana Business School. He is also an alumnus of IESE Business School, Barcelona. He has previously tutored and taught at Strathclyde Business School and GIMPA Business School in Ghana. His teaching interests span services marketing, marketing research, strategic marketing, marketing communications and international marketing. Prior to taking a full-time academic appointment in 2010 he was a Vice President at Databank, a leading Ghanaian investment firm, with responsibility for marketing and corporate communications — experience that informs a distinctly practice-anchored approach to the discipline. His research addresses service performance measurement, internationalisation, innovation adoption and SME strategy in developing and emerging economies, published in the International Business Review, the Journal of Business Research, the Journal of Services Marketing, the Journal of Service Management, the Journal of International Management and Thunderbird International Business Review. He has consulted for Gold Fields Ghana, Total Oil Ghana, Stanbic Ghana, Axis Pensions, Technoserve Ghana, the Ghana Shippers Council, Bankseta South Africa and the African Water Association. He has served on AACSB accreditation, research, textbook and curriculum review committees, and sits on the board of Kesinor Micro Finance in Ghana
