Biography
Dr Francis Kwaku Donbesuur is Associate Professor in Entrepreneurship at the University of Leicester School of Business, where he also serves as Director of Internationalisation. He is a Fellow of Advance HE. Prior to joining Leicester in 2022 he was Lecturer in International Business, Strategy and Innovation at Loughborough University. His primary research focuses on the interface between strategic and international entrepreneurship, particularly within developing and emerging economy contexts. His work has been published in the Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal, the Journal of Product Innovation Management, the British Journal of Management, R&D Management, the Journal of Business Research, Technovation, the International Business Review, the Journal of International Management and the International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behaviour and Research. He has presented at the Academy of Management, the Academy of International Business and the American Marketing Association, and his contributions have been recognised with the 2017 Global Innovation and Knowledge Academy Best Conference Paper and the 2018 Academy of International Business (African Chapter) Best PhD Conference Paper. He served as Co-Investigator on a European Social Fund project on SME productivity in North West England and leads the School’s Growth Accelerator programme for social entrepreneurs. He is a co-editor of Inclusive Entrepreneurship in Africa (Routledge, 2026).
