Biography

Dr Raymond Adu is Senior Lecturer in Economics and Finance at Huddersfield Business School, which he joined in January 2022. He previously held equivalent positions at the University of Wolverhampton and Coventry University. He holds a PhD in Economics and an MSc in Financial Economics from the University of Bradford and a BA in Economics and Statistics from the University of Ghana. He completed his Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice in Higher Education at Coventry University and is a Fellow of Advance HE. His research addresses international economics and finance, with published work on real effective exchange rate dynamics, monetary policy transmission and the structural asymmetries confronting the West African Monetary Zone — analysis with direct bearing on Ghana’s monetary policy debate. His teaching integrates live market data and R programming into undergraduate and postgraduate economics and finance provision, and he is an active public commentator on competition and regulation in Ghanaian markets.
