Dr Rexford Attah-Boakye

Biography

Dr Rexford Attah-Boakye is Associate Professor in Accounting at the University of Bradford. He previously held the position of Assistant Professor of Accounting at Nottingham University Business School and served as Faculty Director of the Degree Apprenticeship Programme at the University of Hull. He is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, a Certified Quantitative Risk Manager and an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Credit Management. He holds a PhD in Accounting, an MBA in Financial Management, an MSc in Information Technology, a B.Com (Hons), a postgraduate diploma in research and QTS in mathematics. He brings significant industry experience, having served as Director of Internal Audit in a bank and held accounting roles across the private and public sectors. His research covers auditing, corporate governance and reporting, taxation, quantitative risk management, environmental accounting, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence. His work appears in the British Journal of Management, Accounting Forum, the Journal of Business Research, the Journal of International Management, Management International Review, the International Journal of Finance and Economics, the European Journal of Finance and Technological Forecasting and Social Change. He was a keynote speaker at the first Africa Quantitative Risk Conference in Accra and is a co-founder and co-organiser of the Ghana Scholarly Society conference. He is a co-editor of African Businesses in Global Spaces and Places (Springer, 2026).
